Taking the easy route on the cover of World’s Finest 40 (May/June 1949).
Joe Kubert joins George Kashdan for the Zatara story in this issue, in which the magician teaches a young man the importance of reading and obeying signs. It’s all played for comedy, and uses an old joke as its core.
In fact, the story really relies on knowing “Drink Canada Dry is an ad, not a command,” as the actual sign shown in the story avoids copyright issues, replacing Canada with North America. But Zatara does bring the man to Canada, as specified in the text, and uses his magic to force the man to try to drink a medium sized lake.
